Allergy results

So...I got my lovely food challenge over and done with today. ugh.
To start the day, we're not 3 minutes from the place, and traffic stops. After seeing 3 ambulances, a fire truck and a Garda go by (that's police, in Irish), I climb out of the car, leaving Hubby and P in it to go home, and walk to the hosp. (I was already pretty late, but was still the first of us to get there...us being the other two having a test).
Checked in. Fine. Sat and waited about a half hour. Had an iv put in, "just in case", so they could give me iv meds if I went anaphylactic on 'em.
About 9:15, I ate a piece of celery. One stick. Not even a whole rib. Went and sat back down in the waiting room. About 20 minutes go by, and I realize my throat is starting to close a bit. But was it all in my head? I wait a little longer, and get called back in to eat my one green Skittle. BAM, not a minute after I swallow that one, my throat swells. That was freaky. So I had positive reactions to both of those.
Wait about 2 hours, then it's time for the carrot. Goody. I LOVE raw carrots and celery, and haven't had them in a long time. So this was great. In the meantime, DH arrives, now that the sitter is with P. We start to play Scrabble that he brought with him. About 1/2 hour later, I eat the carrot. Not five minutes later, throat is thick feeling, getting hard to swallow. And *heartburn*, it was like I was pg again.
We know my reaction already to onion, so I didn't have to eat that (thank the GODDESS!!!!). So I've been told to avoid raw carrots, celery and onion, and no more Skittles (even the green ones!). But he's not too worried, since the reactions went away on their own and I didn't need any meds.
There was a guy there who did have a reaction, and it was getting intense. It wasn't fast, but phew. I felt for him.
Weird thing...the other one there for the allergist was a woman. Her name, amazingly, was two letters different than mine (first name), and second name was the SAME. Totally wild. never had that happen before!!
