Going Nuts

It's just been one of those days. I feel like I need to double my dose or something. Must be week-before-AF hell. But P has been driving me bonkers.
The rain finally stopped and the sun came out. He woke up an hour early from his nap, so I figured we could go outside, he'd play and I'd put some new pine chips down around the plants. No go. I turn around, and he's let himself back in the house, and has emptied out the veggie drawer of the fridge.
So I think about what he and I can do that's in the yard. He helps me pull some weeds for approx. 1 minute, then starts whining. Then starts wandering (this is close to the street). So no more weeds.
I spent about an hour today putting his bike seat on my bike, and when I asked him if he wanted to go for a ride, he said yes. Then I tried putting on his helmet. This kid must have the biggest head. He's 2, and I'm pretty sure that we need to get him an adult small helmet. The helmet I got him kinda squeaks on. Sigh. So it took me another hour to convince him that he has to wear the hat if we go on the bike. Finally I just picked him up, put him in the seat, and put the damn helmet on his head. He liked the ride (just down to the shop, to see if they had curry powder...HA! There's a dream and a half), once I finally got it all going.
I'm going bonkers again. I tried to make dinner, but what was scheduled for tonight can't happen cause we don't have any mushrooms! So now I have to freestyle. This is mucho annoying cause we did a huge off-island run yesterday for groceries, and should have gotten enough for 2 weeks. I feel like banging my head against the table.
Maybe being isolated in Maine is a bad idea, for me, for now. I don't want to whine, but I'm just not getting anything done. The house is a mess, and you don't want to see my desk. I finally got my iSight, but the person I want to talk to is never awake for me to use it. Head, meet table. Bang bang bang.

Date: 2004-04-22 11:28 pm (UTC)I'm sorry you're feeling down, isn't it always the way that when one thing goes wrong (or not to plan) that everything starts to act against you all day? I hope tomorrow is better for you.

He must be a similar age to my Seth? Seth is 2.4yrs, and is go-go-go from dawn till dusk. Lotsa head banging goes on here too, usually his in contact with whatever he's just lept 10 stories from.
As to the shopping situation, I so know how you feel. Although it's no where near as bad as you being stuck on an Island. Groceries are a 20 minute drive one way, so if you run out of milk there is no just 'popping' to the shop, it would cost more in petrol than the milk is...lol

Date: 2004-04-23 10:02 am (UTC)Yeah, they're the same age, actually. When was Seth born? P doesn't do leaps, but he does like head-butting us.
The store is just down the road, so I'm lucky that way. Very limited supply, and the other store (about 10 min each way drive) has soy milk and that's it. I'm quite proud of us tho...the soy sour cream and cream cheese has an expiration of 2005, so we bought a ton when we were off-island a couple days ago. That takes care of THAT!
